Linlithgow Rose Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Linlithgow, West Lothian. The team plays in the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division, the sixth tier of Scottish football, having moved from the junior leagues in 2018. With playing colours of maroon and white, Linlithgow Rose have won the Scottish Junior Cup four times, in 1965, 2002, 2007 and 2010. Linlithgow also finished as runners-up in 1974, 2003 and 2013. History Although officially formed in 1889, there are no newspaper reports of a club by this name until 1898 giving rise to the notion that the original date could either be speculation or is a misprinted date that has been subsequently used as fact. Prestonfield is a football stadium in the royal burgh of Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland. It is the home stadium of Linlithgow Rose of the East of Scotland Football League. Kelty (Scottish Gaelic: Cailtidh) is a former coal mining village located in Fife, Scotland. Lying in the heart of the old mining heartlands of Fife, it is situated on the Fife/Kinross-shire boundary and has a population of around 6,000 residents. This was nearer to 9,000 when the coal mining industry was still operational in late 1970s and early 1980s. Origins The origin of the name of the village is somewhat obscure. Tayport, also known as Ferry-Port on Craig, is a town and burgh, and parish, in the county of Fife, Scotland, acting as a commuter town for Dundee. Scottish Junior Cup
The Scottish Junior Cup is an annual football competition organised by the Scottish Junior Football Association. The competition has been held every year since the inception of the SJFA in 1886 and, as of the 2022–23 edition, 108 teams compete in the tournament. The cup has an unseeded knockout format with semi-finals over two legs and the final played at a neutral venue, always that of an SPFL club. Since the 2006–07 season, the winner of the Junior Cup Final has qualified for the following season's senior Scottish Cup. The competition is named the Macron Scottish Cup for sponsorship reasons. Brown Ferguson
Brown Ferguson (born 4 June 1981 in Falkirk) is a Scottish football player and coach. He is currently the assistant manager of Stenhousemuir. He also previously had manager spells at Stenhousemuir and Linlithgow Rose. As a player, he played for East Stirlingshire, Alloa Athletic, Hamilton Academical, Partick Thistle and then finally at Stenhousemuir. His coaching career began with Stenhousemuir, and he managed the club for over three years previously. Playing career Ferguson started his career with East Stirlingshire in 1998. In the summer of 2002, Ferguson moved to Alloa Athletic (two spells), where he made a great start to his Alloa career only to break his leg and face a long time on the sidelines. Stenhousemuir (; gd, Featha Thaigh nan Clach) is a town in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies within the Falkirk council area of Scotland. The town is north-northwest of Falkirk and directly adjoins to Larbert in the west, where the nearest rail access is located. Todd Lumsden (born 6 February 1978 in Consett) is an English football player and manager. Career Lumsden mostly played in the lower leagues of Scottish football, although he did play for Hamilton Academical at First Division level. He was appointed player/manager of Albion Rovers in May 2012, after Paul Martin resigned due to health reasons. Lumsden left Albion Rovers after the 2012–13 season, as the club were relegated from the Second Division. He was succeeded by his assistant James Ward. On 1 July 2014 Lumsden became assistant manager to Allan Moore at Arbroath He became interim manager after Moore left the club in April 2015 and was appointed manager on a two-year deal on 30 April 2015.
