Line 6 (Shenzhen Metro)
Line 6 (), also known as the Guangming line () of the Shenzhen Metro is in operation. Line 6 is part of the Phase III expansion of the Shenzhen Metro with a construction time frame scheduled for 2015–2019. The first phase of Line 6 has a length of and a total of 20 stations. It connects Songgang to Shenzhen North station. The southern extension has a length of and 7 stations, from Shenzhen North station to Science Museum station. Construction of the first phase started in 2012, with both the original line and south extension opened on 18 August 2020. It is the second metro line in Shenzhen with an operating speed of over . Guangming station (formerly known as Cuihu) will have provision for interchange with Dongguan Rail Transit Line 1 which is also under construction. Bao'an District
Bao'an District () is one of the nine districts comprising the city of Shenzhen, Guangdong province. It is one of the districts formerly lying outside the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. History Bao'an was the historical name of Bao'an County (also known as Xin'an County) of the Qing dynasty, which included area of modern-day Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The area of today Bao'an District, was integrated into Shenzhen in 1979, which the Bao'an County was promoted as a city. Bao'an was reverted into county status in 1981, as the administrative unit of the area that belongs to Shenzhen, but now belongs to Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Border patrols were also established in the border of the Economic Zone. In 1991, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, located in Bao'an County, was opened. Cross-platform Interchange
A cross-platform interchange is a type of interchange between different lines at a metro (or other railway) station. The term originates with the London Underground; such layouts exist in other networks but are not commonly so named. In the United States, it is often referred to as a cross-platform transfer. This configuration occurs at a station with island platforms, with a single platform in between the tracks allocated to two directions of travel, or two side platforms between the tracks, connected by level corridors. The benefit of this design is that passengers do not need to use stairs to another platform level for transfer. Line 1, Dongguan Rail Transit
Line 1 of the Dongguan Rail Transit, (), is a rapid transit line under construction in Dongguan, Guangdong. It has a planned 25 stations and connect Machongxi in the North, to Huangjiangnan in the south. The Phase 1 of Line 1 in Dongguan will start construction in September 2018. The extension to Huangpu Passenger Port have not approved by National Development and Reform Commission and has no published timeline. Shenzhen North Railway Station
Shenzhenbei (Shenzhen North) Railway Station () is one of the four large intercity railway stations of Shenzhen, located in Longhua District. It has 11 platforms and 20 lines. It is an interchange station between the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen High-Speed Railway, future Shenzhen–Zhanjiang high-speed railway and the Shenzhen Metro Lines 4, 5 and 6. Line 4, Shenzhen Metro
Line 4 of Shenzhen Metro, formerly branded as Longhua line, runs South–North from to . The line serves Futian District and Longhua District of Shenzhen. The line originally used 4-car trains, making it extremely crowded although it still carried over 250,000 people daily peaking at 516,100 on 5 May 2014. Stations feature electronic passenger information systems which display estimated train arrival times. When the second phase of the line opened in 2011, there were only eight trains which were completely unable to meet passenger demand. By 2012, 24 trains were in service. On 26 January 2014, the first 6-car train entered service, and as of 30 January 2015 all trains are 6 cars; 2 months earlier than planned. Longhua District is a district in Shenzhen, Guangdong, People's Republic of China. It was created as a new district on 30 December 2011, and became a formal district on 11 October 2016. History Longhua was established as a new district on 30 December 2011 by the Shenzhen municipal government, being separated from Bao'an District. Line 11, Shenzhen Metro
Shenzhen Metro Line 11 opened on 28 June 2016. Line 11 has a length of and a total of 19 stations. It connects the CBDs of Futian, Nanshan and Qianhai to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and onward to Fuyong, Shajing and Songgang suburban areas. It serves as both a regional express line from the west coast of Shenzhen to the city core area and an airport rail link. Compared with the other lines of Shenzhen Metro, Line 11 has a longer spacing between stops for a higher speed service. Trains of Line 11 were designed to run at , up to 50% faster than other lines, but currently limited to for infrastructure, tunnel wind pressure and noise reasons.
