Lily Was Here (soundtrack)
''Lily Was Here'' is the soundtrack album to the 1989 Dutch drama film of the same name (original title in Dutch: ''De Kassière'', ''The Cashier''), directed by Ben Verbong. The soundtrack was produced and largely written by David A. Stewart, one half of the British pop duo Eurythmics. The title track from the soundtrack, an instrumental duet between Stewart playing guitar and Candy Dulfer on saxophone, who also features on and co-wrote three of the other tracks, was released as a single and charted in numerous countries including reaching number one in the Netherlands for four weeks, number 6 in the UK Singles Chart and number 11 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The soundtrack also includes a new version of the Eurythmics' 1984 single "Here Comes the Rain Again", featuring Annie Lennox on vocals. Dave Stewart (musician And Producer)
David Allan Stewart (born 9 September 1952) is an English musician, songwriter and record producer, best known for Eurythmics, his successful professional partnership with Annie Lennox. Sometimes credited as David A. Stewart, he won Best British Producer at the 1986, 1987 and 1990 Brit Awards. Stewart (along with Lennox) was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020 and the duo were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Annie Lennox
Ann Lennox (born 25 December 1954) is a Scottish singer-songwriter, political activist and philanthropist. After achieving moderate success in the late 1970s as part of the new wave band the Tourists, she and fellow musician Dave Stewart went on to achieve international success in the 1980s as Eurythmics. Appearing in the 1983 music video for " Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" with orange cropped hair and wearing a man's business suit, the BBC states, "all eyes were on Annie Lennox, the singer whose powerful androgynous look defied the male gaze". Edward Shearmur (also known as Ed Shearmur; born 28 February 1966) is a British film composer. Born in London, England, at age seven he sang in the boys' choir at Westminster Cathedral. Educated at Eton College, he studied at the Royal College of Music and went on to a scholarship at Pembroke College at the University of Cambridge. Patrick Seymour (often credited as Pat Seymour) is a classically trained British songwriter and keyboard player. He has worked as a live and session musician with various artists, and was most notably part of Eurythmics' backing band in the 1980s. After completing a degree in classical music at Oxford University, he first arrived on the UK music scene as part of the British funk band UK Players, whose debut album ''No Way Out'' was released on A&M Records in 1982. Jesús Alfredo Merchán (born December 24, 1952)), known professionally as Chucho Merchán, is a session jazz and rock bassist and guitarist. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cambridge University in 1980. Olle Romö is a Swedish music producer, songwriter, and drummer.
