Levar Fisher
Levar Depree Fisher (born July 2, 1979) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League. He was with the Arizona Cardinals (2002–2004) and in the off-season of 2005 the New Orleans Saints. He played college football at North Carolina State University. High school career Fisher attended East Carteret High School in Beaufort, North Carolina, where he was a three-year letterman in football. As a senior, he rushed for 1043 yards on offense, and on defense, made 147 tackles (14 for losses). College career A four-year starter for the Wolfpack, Fisher was the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year in 2000 and a first-team All-ACC selection in 2000 and 2001. He finished his career with 492 tackles, 12 sacks and 9 fumbles caused. In 2000, he led the nation in tackles per game with 15.1. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). The 2002 NFL draft was the 67th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. The draft is known officially as the "NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting" and has been conducted annually since 1936. Rocky Calmus
Rocky Ayres Calmus (born August 1, 1979) is an American former college and professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for three seasons during the early 2000s. He played college football for the University of Oklahoma, earned consensus All-American honors twice, and was recognized as the nation's top college linebacker. The Tennessee Titans picked him in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft. Early years Calmus was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is one of several high school football players to reach the professional ranks from the highly successful football program at Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma. Fumble
A fumble in gridiron football occurs when a player who has possession and control of the ball loses it before being downed (tackled), scoring, or going out of bounds. By rule, it is any act other than passing, kicking, punting, or successful handing that results in loss of ball possession by a player. A fumble may be forced by a defensive player who either grabs or punches the ball or butts the ball with their helmet (a move called "tackling the ball"). Rush (American Football)
Rushing is an action taken by the offense that means to advance the ball by running with it, as opposed to passing, or kicking. Running Rushing, on offense, is running with the ball when starting from behind the line of scrimmage with an intent of gaining yardage. While this usually means a running play, any offensive play that does not involve a forward pass is a rush - also called a run. It is usually done by the running back after a handoff from the quarterback, although quarterbacks and wide receivers can also rush.
