Francesco Maselli
Francesco Maselli or Citto Maselli (born 9 December 1930, in Rome) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. He has directed 38 films since 1949. Biography Maselli graduated at the National Film School in 1949 and began his career as assistant director for Luigi Chiarini, Michelangelo Antonioni and Luchino Visconti. Thanks to Visconti, Maselli manages to direct his first feature film, '' Abandoned'', showed in competition at the 16th Venice Film Festival. In the 1980s, Maselli dedicated himself to more intimate films, generally focused on female portraits, such as ''A Tale of Love'', with which Maselli won the Grand Jury Prize at the 43rd Venice Film Festival, where Valeria Golino was awarded with her first Volpi Cup for Best Actress. Lorenza Guerrieri (born 18 April 1944) is an Italian actress. Born in Rome, Lorenza Guerrieri made her film debut in the mid-1960s in ''Le sedicenni'', and later appeared in films of any genre, mainly in secondary roles. Vittorio Duse (21 March 1916 – 2 June 2005) was an Italian actor, screenwriter and film director. Biography One of Duse's first roles was in Luchino Visconti's debut feature ''Ossessione'' (1942). Outside Italy, Duse is known for his role in ''The Godfather Part III'' as Don Tommasino in 1990, replacing Corrado Gaipa, who died one year prior to the film's release. Duse mostly starred in Italian films, although he also appeared in ''The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles'', ''The Sopranos'', and in '' When in Rome''. In 1989, Duse starred in the film ''Queen of Hearts'', and he won the Jury Distinction Award at the Montréal World Film Festival. Death Duse died on 2 June 2005 at the age of 89. Nanni Loy (born Giovanni Loi; 23 October 1925 – 21 August 1995) was an Italian film, theatre and TV director. Specifically, Nanni Loy was Sardinian, and one of several notable Sardinian film makers, including Franco Solinas. Biography Loy was born in Cagliari, Sardinia: his father was Guglielmo Loy-Donà, a lawyer issue from a distinguished Sardinian-Venetian family, and his mother was the noblewoman Donna Anna Sanjust of the Marquesses of Neoneli.
