Len Taylor
Leonard William "Len" Taylor (born January 16, 1952) is a Canadian politician and a former member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, representing The Battlefords. Taylor is a member of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party. From 2000 to 2003, and again since 2016, he served on the North Battleford, Saskatchewan city council, and was a federal NDP Member of Parliament in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 until 1997, when he was defeated. He served as the party's House Leader from 1994 to 1996. Taylor was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the re-created district of The Battlefords in 2003, and was named to cabinet following the election as Minister of Government Relations. North Battleford, Saskatchewan
North Battleford is a city in west-central Saskatchewan, Canada. It is the seventh largest city in the province and is directly across the North Saskatchewan River from the Town of Battleford. Together, the two communities are known as "The Battlefords". North Battleford borders the Rural Municipality of North Battleford No. 437, as well as the North Battleford Crown Colony ( census subdivision). 1988 Canadian Federal Election
The 1988 Canadian federal election was held on November 21, 1988, to elect members to the House of Commons of Canada of the 34th Parliament of Canada. It was an election largely fought on a single issue: the Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement (CUSFTA); the Progressive Conservative Party campaigned in favour of it whereas the Liberal Party and the New Democratic Party (NDP) campaigned against it. The incumbent prime minister, Brian Mulroney, went on to lead his Progressive Conservative Party to a second majority government. Mulroney became the party's first leader since John A. The 2011 Saskatchewan general election was held on November 7, 2011, to elect 58 members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan (MLAs). The election was called on October 10 by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, on the advice of Premier Brad Wall. Wall's Saskatchewan Party government was re-elected with an increased majority of 49 seats, the third-largest majority government in the province's history. The opposition New Democratic Party was cut down to only nine ridings, its worst showing in almost 30 years. Saskatchewan Party
The Saskatchewan Party is a centre-right political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Since 2007, it has been the province's governing party; both the party and the province are currently led by Premier Scott Moe.
