Lekan Salami Stadium
Adamasingba Stadium ( also called Lekan Salami stadium) is a multi-use stadium in Ibadan, Nigeria. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Shooting Stars FC and other local teams located in Ibadan. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 people. Shooting Stars FC are an extremely successful team and have many fans. They won the championship in 1993 and soon after went to the bottom of the ladder. The potential of the sporting complex has however not been optimally utilised due to rot and decay making most facilities moribund as a result of what many believes is a lack of maintenance culture. Over the years, many of the structures have been overtaken by bushes and taken over by reptiles. Shooting Stars Sports Club (often nicknamed 3SC or ''Oluyole Warriors'') is a Nigerian football club based in Ibadan. History The club was one of the founders of the Nigerian Premier League in 1972, when they were called ''WNDC Ibadan'' (Western Nigeria Development Company), and were later called IICC (Industrial Investment and Credit Corporation) Shooting Stars of Ibadan. Lekan Salami
Olalekan Sanusi Salami (1928 - 1988) was a Nigerian businessman, football administrator and socialite who was life patron of Shooting Stars S.C. and was influential in the success of the club during the 1970s. The former Adamasingba Sports Complex is named after him. Life Salami was born in Ibadan to the family of Salami and Oyebimpe Oyetunde, his father was a younger brother to the late Olubadan Shittu Akintola Oyetunde. The family's compound was in the Eleta neighborhood of Ibadan, hence he was given the moniker Salami Eleta when he was young. He started learning by taking Quranic lessons at the age of three and when he was seven, he started attending an Islamic School. David Medayese Jemibewon (born 20 July 1940) is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as military governor of the now defunct Western State (August 1975 – March 1976) during the military regime of General Murtala Muhammed, governor of Oyo State after it had been created from part of the old Western State (March 1976 -July 1978) during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo, and later as Minister of Police Affairs in the cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo after the return to democracy (1999 to 2000).
