Leinster Senior Football Championship
The Leinster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Leinster Championship and shortened to Leinster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Leinster, and has been contested every year since the 1888 championship. The final, currently held on the fourth Sunday in June, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the Delaney Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. 2022 Leinster Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Leinster Senior Football Championship was the 2022 iteration of the Leinster Senior Football Championship organised by Leinster GAA. The draws for the preliminary round and quarter-finals took place on Saturday 27 November 2021, while the draw for the semi-finals took place on Sunday 1 May 2022. Dessie Farrell
Dessie Farrell is an Irish Gaelic football coach and former player. He has been manager of the Dublin county team since 2019. A former All Star Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for Dublin county team for nearly 15 years, he retired from county football in 2005 and spent another four years playing with his club Na Fianna. Having won an All-Ireland with Dublin in 1995, Dessie went on to captain his county, winning six Leinster championships, a National League title and three county championships with his club. He managed the Dublin minor football team in 2011 and 2012. He also managed Na Fianna. Niall Carew
Niall Carew (born 1974) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former Gaelic footballer and hurler. He has been manager of the Carlow county team since 2020. Carew previously managed Waterford and Sligo. Career Born in Staplestown, County Kildare, Carew played Gaelic football for the St Kevin's club and hurling for Coill Dubh. In retirement from playing Carew became involved in team management and coaching. At inter-county level he served as a selector with the senior Kildare county team, before later managing the Waterford and Sligo senior teams.
