It has multiple youth soccer fields where the Super Y-League club from the area plays and a 3,000 seater soccer-specific stadium called Legion Stadium. It is where the Wilmington Hammerheads of the United Soccer League and the USL W-League, W-League play.

The Super Y League is a youth soccer league with teams from the United States and Canada. Founded in 1999, the Super Y League is dedicated to the progression of future professional players and has steered the course for development of elite clubs, players and coaches. Affiliated with U.S. Soccer, the Super Y League has opened countless doors for players to be identified for U.S. National Team programs. Wilmington Hammerheads FC was a semi-professional American soccer team based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1996, the team last competed in the Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2017.
