Leah Hayes
Leah Hayes (born October 21, 2005) is an American swimmer, currently swimming for the Illinois-based team Fox Valley Park District Riptides. She is a 200 m individual medley and 400 m individual medley Champion in 2023 World Junior Championships, also win gold medalist in 4×200 m freestyle, silver medalist in 4×100 m freestyle with bronze medalist in 200 m freestyle. Early life, swimming, and education Hayes was born to parents Jill and Tim Hayes. At the age of six, Hayes was diagnosed with alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss.At the age of 10, Hayes would earn her first national age group record in the 200m freestyle. Hayes currently attends Kaneland High School, and is scheduled to graduate in 2024. She has committed to swim at the University of Virginia. Medley Swimming
Medley is a combination of four different swimming styles— backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle—into one race. This race is either swum by one swimmer as individual medley (IM) or by four swimmers as a medley relay. Individual medley Individual medley consists of a single swimmer swimming equal distances of four different strokes within one race. Stroke order Individual medley consists of four strokes. These four strokes go in an order by Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and finally Freestyle. The swimmer will swim one quarter of the race in each style, in a certain order. 2023 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships
The 9th World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships were held in Netanya, Israel, at the Wingate Institute from 4 to 9 September 2023. These championships were the first to be held under the new World Aquatics name and branding. The age groups for these championships were altered slightly from the previous championships in 2022, with the equalisation of age groups to 14-18 years for both genders (athletes age as of 31 December 2023). In total 648 athletes from 93 member federations competed at the championships. Due to the status of their member federation athletes from the Philippines were required to compete as 'Neutral Independent Athletes'. Three large member federations opted not to compete at these championships, being Great Britain, France, and Hungary. Lillia Camille King (born February 10, 1997) is an American swimmer who specializes in breaststroke. She currently represents the Cali Condors, a team that is part of the International Swimming League. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won the gold medal in the 100 meter breaststroke competition and also won a gold medal in the 4x100 meter medley relay, in which she swam the breaststroke leg.
