Le Bistro Montage
Le Bistro Montage, or simply Montage, was a restaurant in Portland, Oregon, United States. Description and history Characterized as quirky, and long a favorite of the late night crowd, it featured communal dining and eclectic Cajun fare such as alligator, frog legs, and jambalaya served late into the night. Originally on Belmont Street, it later moved to larger quarters at the site of the former Royal Hotel under the Morrison Bridge. The restaurant closed in June 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The food cart Montage ala Cart opened in the Hawthorne Asylum. Morrison Bridge
The Morrison Bridge is a bascule bridge that spans the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. Completed in 1958, it is the third bridge at approximately the same site to carry that name. It is one of the most heavily used bridges in Portland. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in November 2012. Predecessors The original Morrison Bridge (or Morrison Street Bridge) was a wooden truss swing bridge, swing-span bridge that opened to the public on April 9, 1887 (with a formal opening three days later), as the first Willamette River bridge in Portland and the longest bridge west of the Mississippi River. The city of Portland, Oregon, United States, has experienced a boom in the number of food carts due to relatively low regulation compared to other North American cities. History In 1965, the first food cart in Portland, which sold kosher hot dogs, was set up across from Portland City Hall. In 1976, Portland opened up all of its downtown parks to competitive bidding. A 2001 report in ''The Oregonian'' stated Portland was home to 175 carts, with fierce competition for the four cart spaces available since 1987 in the South Park Blocks. A bidding war in February 2001 led to a combined price of $192,000 for the spaces. Buckman is a neighborhood in the Southeast section (and a small portion of the Northeast section) of Portland, Oregon. The neighborhood is bounded by the Willamette River on the west, E Burnside St. on the north (except for a triangle between NE 12th Ave. and NE 14th Ave. in which NE Sandy Blvd. forms the northern border), SE 28th Ave. on the east, and SE Hawthorne Blvd. on the south.
