Larry R. Marshall
Larry R. Marshall is an Australian physicist and entrepreneur who served as the head of the CSIRO, Australia's national scientific research agency. Marshall was appointed to this position on 15 January 2015, succeeding the organisation's first female chief executive Megan Clark. He concluded his term at the end of June 2023 to be succeeded by Doug Hilton. Early life and education Marshall was born in Sydney; he received both his undergraduate and postgraduate education at Macquarie University, where he graduated in 1988 with a Doctorate, PhD in physics. At Macquarie University, Marshall performed research with James A. Piper, J. A. Piper on stimulated Raman scattering. Radio National, known on-air as RN, is an Australia-wide public service broadcasting radio network run by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). John Robert Hewson AM (born 28 October 1946) is an Australian former politician who served as leader of the Liberal Party from 1990 to 1994. He led the Liberal-National Coalition to defeat at the 1993 Australian federal election. Hewson was born in Sydney, New South Wales, and earned a PhD in Economics from Johns Hopkins University. ABC Radio Canberra (call sign: 2CN) is an ABC Local Radio station based in Canberra and broadcasting to the Australian Capital Territory as well as surrounding areas in New South Wales – this includes the cities and towns of Queanbeyan, Yass, and Bungendore.
