Lalit Mansingh
Lalit Mansingh (born 29 April 1941) is a former Indian diplomat. He was the Foreign Secretary of India from 1999 to 2000, and Indian Ambassador to the United States from 2001 to 2004. Prior to this, he was Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1998 to 99. Lalit Mansingh is the son of Odia poet and educationist Mayadhar Mansingh. Early life and education Mansingh was born and brought up in Odisha as the middle son of Odia poet Mayadhar Mansingh. He was born at Nandala, in Puri district of Odisha. He graduated with a master's degree in Political Science, receiving a gold medal for being top of the class. He was a Research scholar and Faculty for short period in American Studies Programme at the School of International Studies in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Puri District
Puri district is a coastal district of the Odisha state of India. It has one sub-division, 11 tahasils and 11 blocks and comprises 1722 revenue villages. Puri is the only municipality of the district. Konark, Pipili and Nimapara are the three NACs in this district. Satyabadi, Gop, Kakatpur and Brahmagiri are major semi-urban areas. Name The district is named after its capital city, Puri. In Sanskrit, the word "Puri" means town or city. Ronen Sen
Ranendra "Ronen" Sen (born 9 April 1944) is an Indian diplomat who was India's ambassador to the United States of America from August 2004 to March 2009. His contribution to the landmark US India Nuclear Deal of 2005 is considered of immense importance. Career Mr. Sen served as an Independent Director of Tata Motors, from 1 June 2010 till 2012. Parikud
Parikud is an island in Chilika Lake, Odisha, India. The land mass is spread over 97 '' mouzas'' (administrative districts) of Krushnaprasad panchayat samiti. It is surrounded by Chilika Lake and the Bay of Bengal on two sides. The settlement Jahnikuda is located at the easternmost end of the island and acts as an access point to Puri. The residents of this area primarily work in agriculture and fishing. The current head of the island is Raja Santosh Chandra Deo.
