''La tempestad'' (International translation: ''The Tempest'', dubbed ''The Storm'' by Univision) is a 2013 Mexican telenovela produced by Salvador Mejía Alejandre for Televisa. It is loosely based on the Colombian telenovela '' La Tormenta'', produced by R.T.I. Colombia for Telemundo and Caracol Televisión. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. Laura Carmine (born Laura Yliana Carmine Miranda; April 2, 1983) is a Puerto Rican actress who currently resides in Mexico. Early life Carmine was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico but soon moved with her family to Mexico. She was born with Heterochromia iridum. She obtained two degrees, one in Advertising and Marketing.
