LPGA Qualifying Tournament
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. There can be up to four stages to negotiate, each of them like a regular golf tournament with only a small number of players going on to the next stage. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Golf, unlike most ball games, cannot and does not use a standardized playing area, and coping with the varied terrains encountered on different courses is a key part of the game. Roberto Castro
Roberto Castro (born June 23, 1985) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Castro played college golf at Georgia Tech. While at Georgia Tech, he was named first-team All-American in 2005, second-team All-American in 2007 and honorable mention All-American in 2004 and 2006. He was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) team every year during his four years at Georgia Tech and was named ACC Rookie of the Year in 2004. He won one collegiate event, the 2007 Puerto Rico Classic. He won the 2007 Byron Nelson Award which is given to the nation's top senior golfer. In 2005, Castro was the captain for the United States Palmer Cup team that defeated Europe 14–10. He was also a member of the 2006 team that lost 19½–4½. European Senior Tour
The Legends Tour is the current branding of the European Senior Tour, a professional tour for male golfers aged 50 and over, run by the PGA European Tour. The tour was branded as the Staysure Tour for the 2018 and 2019 seasons after UK-based insurance company Staysure became the first-ever title sponsors of the senior tour in December 2017. The tour was relaunched as the Legends Tour in 2020, after Ryan Howsam, founder and owner of Staysure, took majority ownership in a joint venture with the European Tour. History The Tour was founded in 1992 after calls from 60 leading professionals five years after the first Senior Open Championship in 1987. Daytona Beach, or simply Daytona, is a coastal resort-city in east-central Florida. LPGA International is a golf club located in Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida, United States, and the main golf facility used by the Ladies Professional Golf Association ( LPGA). The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is an American organization for female golfers. The organization is headquartered at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female professional golfers from around the world. Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and, as with on the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe. History The tour was introduced in 1986 and was initially called the ''Satellite Tour''. The Order of Merit was introduced in 1989, with the top five players on it winning membership of the European Tour for the following season. Korn Ferry Tour Finals
The Korn Ferry Tour Finals is a series of three golf tournaments that serve as a means of earning PGA Tour membership for the following season ("Tour cards"). The series, which until 2019 consisted of four tournaments, replaced the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament in 2013. The Finals take place after the Korn Ferry Tour regular season. FedEx Cup
The FedEx Cup is a championship trophy for the PGA Tour. Its introduction marked the first time that men's professional golf had a playoff system. John Huh
John Huh (; ko, 허찬수, translit=Heo Chan-su; born May 21, 1990) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. His sole victory on the PGA Tour came at the 2012 Mayakoba Golf Classic. Amateur career Huh was born in New York City to Korean parents. He moved to South Korea shortly after his birth and he lived there for 12 years, then moved to Chicago, Illinois for three years, and then to Los Angeles, California. He attended California State University, Northridge for two weeks before turning professional in 2008. Huh left college due to the lack of core courses, preventing him from receiving a scholarship and being approved for NCAA competition.
