LG Uplus Corp. ( ko, LG유플러스; stylized as LG U+, ) is a South Korean mobile network operator owned by LG Corporation. It was formerly known as LG Telecom, but changed to the current name on July 1, 2010. LG Uplus is the List of mobile network operators of the Asia Pacific region#South Korea, third-largest wireless carrier in South Korea, with 16.652 million subscribers as of Q4 2020. In telecommunications, long-term evolution (LTE) is a Technical standard, standard for wireless broadband communication for mobile devices and data terminals, based on the GSM/Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution, EDGE and UMTS/High Speed Packet Access, HSPA standards. It improves on those standards' capacity and speed by using a different radio interface and core network improvements. Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO, EVDO, etc.) is a telecommunications standard for the wireless transmission of data through radio signals, typically for broadband Internet access. EV-DO is an evolution of the CDMA2000 (IS-2000) standard which supports high data rates and can be deployed alongside a wireless carrier's voice services.
