Sheikh Lutfar Rahman
Sheikh Lutfur Rahman (; 1881 – 30 March 1975) was a Bangladeshi ''serestadar'', an officer responsible for record-keeping at the Gopalganj civil court in British India. His son Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first president of Bangladesh. Lutfar was also the paternal grandfather of Sheikh Hasina. Early life Rahman was born in 1881 to the Bengali Muslim Sheikhs of Bengal, Sheikh family in the village of Tungipara Upazila, Tungipara located in Gopalganj District, Bangladesh, Gopalganj, Faridpur Division, Faridpur district, Bengal Presidency. He had Iraqis, Iraqi Arabs, Arab ancestry through his father Sheikh Abdul Hamid, who was a direct descendant of Muslim preacher Sheikh Abdul Awal Darwish of Baghdad in his 6th generation, who had arrived in the late Mughal era in Bengal. Lutfor Rahman Riton is a Bangladeshi rhymester, a writer of young adult and children's literature. He earned Bangla Academy Literary Award for his contribution to children's literature in 2007 and Ekushey Padak in 2024. Early life and education Riton attended Nawabpur Government High School, Dhaka College and the University of Dhaka. Career Riton's work was first published in the newspaper ''The Daily Ittefaq''.
