Luke Putkonen
Luke Webber Putkonen (born May 10, 1986) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher who played for the Detroit Tigers from 2012 to 2014. Prior to playing professionally, Putkonen played college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. High school and college Putkonen attended Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia. He then enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he played college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team. In 2006, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Professional career The Detroit Tigers drafted Putkonen in the third round of the 2007 MLB Draft. He was promoted to the MLB roster for the first time on April 26, 2012. Winfield is an incorporated village located in Milton and Winfield Townships, DuPage County, Illinois, United States. Toledo Mud Hens
The Toledo Mud Hens are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Toledo, Ohio, and play their home games at Fifth Third Field. A Mud Hens team has played in Toledo for most seasons since 1896, including a 50-year history as a member of the now defunct American Association. The current franchise was established in 1965. They joined Triple-A East in 2021, but this was renamed the International League in 2022. Background Professional baseball had been played off and on in Toledo since 1883, and the Mud Hens era began in 1896 with the "Swamp Angels", who played in the Interstate League. Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per each Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. Triple-A teams are generally located in smaller cities as well as larger metropolitan areas without MLB teams, such as Austin, Jacksonville, Columbus, and Indianapolis. Joshua Aaron Phegley (born February 12, 1988) is an American former professional baseball catcher and current director of player development for Michigan. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, and Chicago Cubs. Amateur career Phegley attended Terre Haute North Vigo High School in Terre Haute, Indiana. Luis Alfredo Marte (born August 26, 1986) is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers. Minor Leagues Marte was signed by the Tigers in 2005 at the age of 19. In 2006, he posted a 1.38 ERA while throwing 90 strikeouts in 60 innings for the Tigers Dominican Summer League affiliate. In 2007 the Tigers transferred Marté to their Gulf Coast League affiliate in Lakeland, Florida where he went 2–0 with a 0.75 ERA in two starts.
