Lucas Plapp (born 25 December 2000) is an Australian road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Junior career In August 2018, Plapp won the points race as well as the Madison with Blake Quick at the UCI Junior Track World Championships in Aigle, Switzerland. Plapp also placed 2nd to Remco Evenepoel in the time trial at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships, 2018 UCI Junior Road World Championships in Innsbruck, Austria. Plapp is part of the AusCycling High Performance Podium Academy and was selected to compete in the Cycling at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's team pursuit, Team pursuit at the 2020 Summer Olympics, where they won the bronze medal. Professional career Plapp rode as a Stagiaire (cycling), stagiaire for UCI WorldTeam in 2021 before joining them full-time in 2022. 2018 UCI Road World Championships
The 2018 UCI Road World Championships were held in Innsbruck, Austria. It was the 91st UCI Road World Championships and the third to be held in Austria. The World Championships consisted of a total of twelve competitions, one road race, one team time trial and one individual time trial for men and women, as well as one road race and one individual time trial for U23 riders and juniors. The Tour de Suisse organisers were responsible for the operational organisation of the races. The competitions were very demanding: the 265-kilometre men's road race had nine climbs with around 5000 metres of altitude difference. Because of the many climbs, some sprinters did not participate in the World Championships because they saw no prospect of success for themselves. Adam Richard Yates (born 7 August 1992) is a British road and track racing cyclist who currently rides for . He placed fourth overall at the 2016 Tour de France and became the first British rider to win the young rider classification, one year ahead of his twin brother Simon. Early life and amateur career Adam and Simon took up cycling after their father John was injured in a collision with a car while riding – during his recovery he took the twins to Manchester Velodrome to track sessions run by his cycling club, Bury Clarion, to keep in touch with the other members. Remco Evenepoel (born 25 January 2000) is a Belgian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the son of Patrick Evenepoel, a former racing cyclist who won the 1993 Grand Prix de Wallonie. Remco Evenepoel started his sport career in association football, playing for the youth teams of R.S.C. Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven, as well as being featured in the youth national teams of Belgium. Realising that his physical abilities made him more suited for cycling, he switched to the discipline in 2017.
