Luke Gilford
Luke Gilford (born 1986) is a director, writer, and photographer based in New York City, NY and Los Angeles, CA. He has directed several award-winning short films, including ''The Future of Flesh'', which showcased Prada collection narrated by Jane Fonda, and ''Connected'', starring Pamela Anderson and Dree Hemingway. Gilford has directed music videos for Blood Orange, Troye Sivan, Christina Aguilera, and Kesha and has collaborated with Mercedes Benz and Maison Martin Margiela. Gilford's first monograph, ''National Anthem America’s Queer Rodeo'', documents America’s queer rodeo and members of the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA). Early life and education Gilford was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in Evergreen, Colorado. Jake Shears (born October 3, 1978) is an American singer and songwriter. He is best known as the male lead singer of pop-rock band Scissor Sisters. Early life Shears was born in Mesa, Arizona, the son of an entrepreneur father and a Baptist mother (Freida Sellards). He grew up on San Juan Island, Washington, where he attended school at Friday Harbor High School and was bullied. His "first real concert was Siouxsie and the Banshees". At the age of 18, he moved into a dorm at the Northwest School in Seattle, Washington, to finish high school. Shears later attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, California.
