Luke Francis
Luke Francis is a Welsh rally driver in the BTRDA Forest Rally from Rhuddlan, Denbighshire. He is the third generation of a racing family, following his father and grandfather. Career In 2012 and 2016 he was the BTRDA champion. In 2016, he won the first rally of the new season, the Cambrian Rally, moved from its usual October slot to February. In the 2015 season he had the second most stage wins of any other competitor. Francis drives a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Rhuddlan
Rhuddlan () is a town, community, and electoral ward in the county of Denbighshire, Wales, in the historic county of Flintshire. Its associated urban zone is mainly on the right bank of the Clwyd; it is directly south of seafront town Rhyl. It gave its name to the Welsh district of Rhuddlan from 1974 to 1996. As of the 2001 census, the population was 4,296 decreasing to 3,709 in the 2011 census. Etymology The name of the town is a combination of the Welsh words ' "red" + ' "riverbank". Denbighshire
Denbighshire ( ; cy, Sir Ddinbych; ) is a county in the north-east of Wales. Its borders differ from the historic county of the same name. The 69th Wales Rally GB was the thirteenth and final round of the 2013 World Rally Championship season and was held between 14 and 17 November 2013. World Rally Championship
The World Rally Championship (abbreviated as WRC) is the highest level of global competition in the motorsport discipline of rallying, owned and governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA. There are separate championships for drivers, co-drivers, manufacturers and teams. The series currently consists of 13 three to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice. Each rally is usually split into 15–25 Special stage (rallying), special stages which are run against the clock on up to 350 kilometres of closed roads. Drivers Sébastien Loeb, Sébastien Ogier, Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen and Colin McRae all became WRC champions.
