Luddy School Of Informatics, Computing, And Engineering
The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is an academic unit of Indiana University located on the Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) campus and on the Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) campus. On the Bloomington campus, the school consists of the Department of Informatics, the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Information and Library Science, and the Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering. On the Indianapolis campus, the school consists of the Department of Human-Centered Computing, the Department of BioHealth Informatics, and the Department of Library and Information Science. History The School of Informatics was founded in 2000 as the first school of its kind in the United States. That fall, the first classes were offered on both campuses. Fred Luddy (born 1954) is an American billionaire businessman, and the founder of ServiceNow, a cloud computing company. Early life Luddy grew up in New Castle, Indiana, the son of an accountant father and a Catholic schoolteacher mother. Luddy went to Indiana University Bloomington, but dropped out, as he was spending too much time doing computer programming.
