Lucie Joanne Silverman (born 4 September 1977) performing as Lucie Silvas, is a British singer-songwriter best known for her 2004 debut single " What You're Made Of", drawn from her first album ''Breathe In''—itself a hit in the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom. Early life Born in Kingston upon Thames, England, her father is from New Zealand and is of Jewish descent; and her mother is Scottish and is Christian. Silvas learned to play piano at the age of 5, and had written her first song by age 10. She relocated many times between her parents' native countries as well as England. Career 2000–02 In 2000, Silvas signed to EMI Records. In June 2000, she released her debut single, " It's Too Late", which peaked at No. 62 in the UK Singles Chart. Danton Supple is a British record producer and mixer, best known for his work with Coldplay. Early career (1985–1994) Danton Supple was introduced to the world of recording studios in the 1980s, at his girlfriend's uncle Paddy Kingsland's BBC radiophonic workshop studios in Hammersmith, West London, "a place full of technology and music". Lacking the then required grade 8 in music to do a related course at college level, he instead looked into a way of turning his knowledge of maths and physics to getting a job in a studio and work his way up. It was scheduled for release at the same time in Silvas' native UK, but was postponed after the album's first single " Last Year" rose only to number 79 in the UK. The album was released in the UK on 12 March 2007. The album debuted in the Dutch Albums Chart at number 5, though only peaked at 62 in the UK. Album information The Dutch edition of the album includes the song " Everytime I Think of You", a duet with Dutch singer Marco Borsato, as the 12th track of the album with "Stolen" as a hidden track.
