In 1991, the Lucas baseball team reached the state semi-finals. In 2005, Angela Foss won the schools only individual state championship. She took first place at the state meet in the pole vault. Lucas, Ohio
Lucas is a village in southeastern Richland County, Ohio, United States. Lucas is part of the Mansfield, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area. History David Tucker, a New Hampshire resident, moved to Richland County in 1819, where he set in a proposal to buy land in the rural country of the county. He was granted this proposal in 1824, allowing him to buy land from the state at $1.25 per acre. After purchasing a mass quantity of land from the state, Tucker hired Mr. Steward to survey the land for auctioning out. David's brother, John, was placed in charge as the head attorney authored to sell land to incoming settlers and pioneers in 1829. The auction was advertised in the local handbill "The Mansfield Shield and Banner", in which the land was described as "as good as a wheat growing country as the state can have." This is a list of high school athletic conferences in Ohio, separated by Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) region. Some conferences have schools in multiple regions, and will be listed in all applicable regions. However, the conference information is on the region page where the most schools are classified in. Conference membership in Ohio is voluntary, rather than assigned by the state association like in some states. While this ensures that many rivalries stay intact regardless of classification changes, it also means schools can choose to change conferences pending acceptance into a different conference, or in rare cases, can be forced out of a conference. North Central Conference (OHSAA)
The North Central Conference was an OHSAA athletic league whose final remaining members were located in northwest and north-central Ohio. The league's last day of operation was June 30, 2014. The following schools were members at the time the league folded: Former members League history The conference's first year was in the 1962-63 school year. The original members were: Buckeye Central, Colonel Crawford, Elgin, Mohawk, Pleasant, Ridgedale, River Valley and Riverdale. Carey and Wynford joined the NCC for the 1963-64 school year. The league remained consistent until the 1990-91 school year when Elgin, Pleasant, Ridgedale and River Valley joined the newly formed Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference; Carey and Mohawk left for the Midland Athletic League; while Crestline, Fredericktown and Ontario joined the NCC. Tim Seder
Timothy R. Seder (born September 17, 1974) is a former American football placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at Ashland University. Early years Seder attended Ashland High School in Ashland, Ohio. He walked-on at Division II Ashland University. He became a starter at placekicker as a freshman, making 6-of-12 field goals and 28-of-29 extra points for 46 points. He would lead the team in scoring in each of his final three seasons. As a senior, he recorded 64 points on 14-of-19 field goals and 22-of-24 extra points attempts. His 14 field goals ranked second in school history and earned him All-MIFC honors. He received second-team All-MIFC honors as a center fielder in baseball. He finished his college career with 41 field goals (school record) and 204 career points (fourth in school history).
