Lubomír Lipský
Lubomír Lipský (19 April 1923 – 2 October 2015) was a Czech actor. He was known primarily for his comedic roles and also established himself as a voice actor. He was an active actor until the end of his life, playing over 300 film and stage roles. His brother was the film director Oldřich Lipský and he played in most of his brother's films. Early life and family Lubomír Lipský was born on 19 April 1923 in Pelhřimov. His father was a confectioner and amateur actor. Lubomír had two younger brothers, including the actor Oldřich Lipský. His brother Dalibor died at the age of 16, but he appeared as an actor in two films. His wife Věra Kittlerová (1926–2003) was a dancer and choreographer. ''Old Ironside'' (Czech: ''Železný dědek'') is a 1948 Czech comedy drama film directed by Václav Kubásek and starring Jaroslav Marvan, Marie Ježková and Otomar Krejča. It was shot at the Barrandov Studios in Prague and on location at various stations on the railway between Prague and Beroun. The film's sets were designed by the art director Alois Mecera. ''The Emperor and the Golem'' (, literally "The Emperor′s Baker and Baker′s Emperor") is a two-part Czechoslovak historical fantasy comedy film produced in 1951. The film was shot in color (not common for Czechoslovak films in that period) because of the international release and is set during the reign of Rudolf II, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia (1583–1611) and takes place in Late Renaissance (Mannerist) Prague. It is one of the best known films of Jan Werich, who's performing a dual role of Emperor Rudolf and baker Matěj. ''The Hen and the Sexton'' () is a 1951 Czechoslovak comedy film directed by Oldřich Lipský and Jan Strejček. Plot In the village of Lužánky in Moravian Slovakia live a "progressive" peasant, Toněk Pěknica, and his "backward" wife, Tereza. Tonek is in favor of establishing an agricultural cooperative (''kolkhoz''), while Tereza is against it. The village is also home to a rich and greedy Voznica, who hates the collective farm movement. He wants to prevent the creation and successful work of the cooperative. The members of the cooperative are working hard to increase their harvest, installing a new irrigation system and preparing the fields for plowing. Voznick convinces the local naive and greedy clerk, Kodýtek, to help him sabotage the farmers' efforts. He begins to distribute leaflets, involving Tonek's son Vincek.
