Loughgall F.C.
Loughgall Football Club is a semi-professional Northern Ireland, Northern Irish football (soccer), football club currently playing in the NIFL Championship. History The club, founded in 1967, is situated in the village of Loughgall, near Armagh in County Armagh and they play their home games in the village at Lakeview Park. The club was accepted into the old Irish League B Division in 1991, having played largely at junior level prior. Alfie Wylie is their longest serving manager, being in charge from 1986 to 1999. In the 1996–97 season, the club would have a good season, notably defeating Cliftonville F.C., Cliftonville in the League Cup, winning the Bob Radcliffe cup and reaching the semi-final of the Irish Cup. In the space of four years, the Lakeview Park side would win four consecutive B Divisions however would not be granted election to the 1st Division, being overlooked for other, arguably bigger clubs further down the league table. Berraat Türker
Berraat Türker (born 4 October 1991) is a German footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Loughgall. Early life He is the son of a Turkish mother and German father. Career He plays for Northern Irish side Loughgall, having helped the club achieve promotion. He previously played for NIFL Premiership sides Dungannon Swifts and Warrenpoint Town. The Northern Ireland Football League Championship (known as the Playr-Fit Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the second level of the Northern Ireland Football League, the national football league in Northern Ireland. Clubs in the Championship can be promoted to the highest national division – the NIFL Premiership, and relegated to the third level – the NIFL Premier Intermediate League. 2009–10 IFA Championship
The 2009–10 IFA Championship (known as the Ladbrokes.com Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the second season since its establishment after a major overhaul of the league system in Northern Ireland. It also marked the first season in which the Championship was divided into two divisions, with the clubs in both divisions having intermediate status. Championship 1 served as the second tier of Northern Irish football, with Championship 2 as the third tier. In Championship 1, Loughgall were crowned champions on 8 May 2010 after a 2–0 win over Ards. However, they were denied promotion because they did not gain the required licence from the IFA. Therefore, runners-up Donegal Celtic entered into a two-leg play-off with the bottom club of the 2009–10 IFA Premiership, and achieved promotion with a 1–0 aggregate win. 2007–08 Irish First Division
The 2007–08 Irish First Division was the thirteenth season of second-tier football in Northern Ireland under the league system at the time, and the last under this structure before a major overhaul of the league system. The 2007–08 First Division consisted of 12 clubs. Loughgall were the champions, but were not promoted to the 2008–09 IFA Premiership as they did not apply for a place. Bangor finished fourth and were the only team from the First Division to apply for a place in the following season's top division, and were granted a place ahead of other incumbent top-flight clubs. The 2003–04 Irish First Division was the ninth season of second-tier football in Northern Ireland under the league system at the time. The division consisted of 12 clubs. Loughgall were the champions and were promoted to the 2004–05 Irish Premier League. Armagh City finished second and entered the promotion play-off, losing to Cliftonville 4–1 on aggregate. The NIFL Premier Intermediate League (Known as the Playr-Fit NIFL Premier Intermediate League for sponsorship reasons) is the third level of the Northern Ireland Football League, the national association football league in Northern Ireland, and the highest intermediate division in Northern Ireland, occupying level three in the Northern Ireland football league system – below the NIFL Premiership (level 1) and NIFL Championship (level 2). Mid-Ulster Cup
The Mid-Ulster Cup is a senior football competition in Northern Ireland run by the Mid-Ulster Football Association (founded 2 April 1887). The competition has historically featured teams based in County Armagh, east County Tyrone, and west County Down, though teams from outside the Mid-Ulster FA's jurisdiction have also competed on occasion, with Bangor (affiliated to the County Antrim & District F.A.) winning the cup in 1995/96. The 2022–23 NIFL Championship (known as the Lough 41 Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the sixth season of the NIFL Championship since gaining senior status.
