Londrina (, literally "Little London") is a city located in the north of the state of Paraná (state), Paraná, South Region, Brazil, and is 388 km (241 miles) away from the state capital, Curitiba. It is the second largest city in the state and fourth largest in the southern region of the country, with 555.965 inhabitants in the whole municipality (2022). Londrina was originally explored by British settlers, and then officially established in 1930 by a small group of Italian, Japanese and German settlers. It rapidly became the commercial, political, and cultural centre of the state's northern pioneer zone. Marcelo Belinati
Marcelo Belinati Martins (born 22 July 1971) is a Brazilian doctor, lawyer, and politician affiliated with the Progressistas (PP). He has been the mayor of Londrina since 2017, having been initially elected in 2016 and reelected in 2020. Biography Born in Londrina on 22 July 1971, Belinati graduated with a degree in Medicine and Law from State University of Londrina. His uncle is former mayor of Londrina Antonio Belinati, who was married to former vice-governor of Paraná, Emília Belinati. He was first elected as a councilman in 2004, with 6,578 votes for the PSL. He was reelected in 2008 with more than 8,000 votes as a member of the PP. During the 2012 elections, he ran for mayor of Londrina. He ended up losing in the second round to Alexandre Kireeff (PSD). Londrina–Gov. José Richa Airport is the airport serving Londrina, Brazil. It is named after José Richa (1934–2003), former mayor of Londrina and Governor of Paraná. It is operated by CCR. The Köppen climate classification divides Earth climates into five main climate groups, with each group being divided based on patterns of seasonal precipitation and temperature. The five main groups are ''A'' (tropical), ''B'' (arid), ''C'' (temperate), ''D'' (continental), and ''E'' (polar). Each group and subgroup is represented by a letter. A humid subtropical climate is a subtropical -temperate climate type, characterized by long and hot summers, and cool to mild winters.
