London Buses Route 94
London Buses route 94 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Acton Green and Piccadilly Circus, it is operated by First Bus London. History Route 94 commenced operating on 22 September 1990 to replace the withdrawn section of route 88 between Acton Green and Oxford Circus, it then ran parallel to route 88 to Trafalgar Square (Sundays only). On 13 July 1991 it was diverted to East Acton ''DuCane Road'' and the service level increased following the truncation of route 12 west of Shepherd's Bush. At the same time it was extended at all times to Trafalgar Square. Route 94 gained a night service in the form of N94 in July 1999. It was the first night bus and was introduced by the General. London Buses route 88 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Parliament Hill Fields and Clapham Common, it is operated by London General, a subsidiary of Go-Ahead London. History Route 88 was the first "Metropolitan" route to receive AEC NS-type buses, running between Acton Green and Mitcham. In 1993, route 88 became the first in London to use kneeling buses, with air suspension that lowered at bus stops to give a significantly reduced ground clearance to make access easier. Between 1993 and 1997, a fleet of Northern Counties Paladin-bodied Volvo B10Bs, which featured branding that styled the service as " The Clapham Omnibus", were operated by London General on route 88. The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is a twin-axle low-floor double-decker bus that was built by the British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis between 2005 and 2018. It replaced the Alexander ALX400 (from which the Enviro400 was developed). The Alexander ALX400 (later known as the TransBus ALX400 and the Alexander Dennis ALX400) is a 2-axle double-decker bus body built by Walter Alexander Coachbuilders (later by TransBus International/ Alexander Dennis).
