Liza Parker
Liza Smith (née Parker; born 30 October 1980) is a retired English badminton player. Career summary Smith played for almost 10 years in her career. Meantime she reached No. 14 in the world in mixed doubles and No. 15 in women's doubles as well as being No. 3 in England in women's doubles. Her best year on the international circuit was 2004 when she won both mixed and women's doubles titles at the Canadian Open as well as winning the Norwegian and Iceland women's doubles titles. She was also a Hertfordshire county stalwart and played for Redstar Mulhouse in France. She made her debut for country when she played women's doubles with Jo Davies against China in 1999 but only won a total of six caps. She was born in the era of other prominent doubles stars from England and wasn't fortunate enough to represent the country at the Olympics or Commonwealth games. St Albans

Juliane Schenk
Juliane Schenk (born 26 November 1982) is a German badminton player. In March 2014 she retired from international play. Career In 2001, she won the European Junior Championships in women's singles. 2003 saw her win the women's doubles with Nicole Grether in two tournaments, the Irish International and the Bitburger Open. Schenk played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics, losing in women's singles to Tracey Hallam of Great Britain in the round of 32. She also won the German championship in the women's doubles with Grether for the first time. She also competed in women's doubles with partner Grether. Nicole Grether
Nicole Grether (born 17 October 1974) is a badminton player from Germany. She competed at the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Summer Olympics. Career Grether competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in women's doubles with partner Juliane Schenk. They defeated Michelle Edwards and Chantal Botts of South Africa in the first round but were defeated by Ann-Lou Jørgensen and Rikke Olsen of Denmark in the round of 16. As of 2011, she now represents Canada with her partner Charmaine Reid. However, due to Grether still holding a German passport, the duo has been unable to compete as a Canadian team in a number of events. Irish Open (badminton)
The Irish International or Irish Open in badminton is an international open held in Ireland since 1902 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. It was however interrupted by the two World Wars. This tournament is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit and takes place at the end of November every year as part of the home nations loop of international tournaments that include the Scottish Open and the Welsh Open in consecutive weeks. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Challenge rated event. The recent exception was in 2012, 2017 & 2018 when the tournament was downgraded to International Series due to funding. Sara Sankey née Sara Halsall (born 29 September 1967) is a retired English badminton player. Badminton career In 1990, Sankey represented England when she attended the Commonwealth Games where she won gold medals in the mixed team event and with Fiona Smith in the women's doubles event.
