Science Fiction Film
Science fiction (or sci-fi) is a film genre that uses Speculative fiction, speculative, fictional science-based depictions of phenomena that are not fully accepted by mainstream science, such as Extraterrestrial life in fiction, extraterrestrial lifeforms, List of fictional spacecraft, spacecraft, robots, cyborgs, Mutants in fiction, mutants, interstellar travel, time travel, or other technologies. Atom Age Vampire
''Atom Age Vampire'' () is a 1960 Italian horror film directed by Anton Giulio Majano. Shot in black-and-white, the film was produced by Elio Ippolito Mellino and stars Alberto Lupo, Susanne Loret, and Sergio Fantoni set in France. Despite there being no vampires in the film, it was released in the US as ''Atom Age Vampire'' in 1963 in an 87-minute version. It was further shortened for English language DVD release. Plot When a stripper (Susanne Loret) becomes disfigured in a car accident, a scientist (Dr. Levin, played by Alberto Lupo) develops a treatment to restore her beauty by injecting her with a special serum. While performing the procedure, however, he falls in love with her. As the treatment begins to fail, he determines to save her appearance, regardless of how many women he must kill for her sake. Darlene Tompkins (born Darlene Perfect; November 16, 1940 – July 18, 2019) was an American actress. Biography Tompkins was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16, 1940. Her parents were divorced when she reached the age of five and she took the surname of her stepfather. Her family performed in plays and vaudeville, and she had an early goal to be a Hollywood actress. At the age of twelve she was mauled by a dog which left her very self-conscious. To help overcome her shyness, she was entered into a beauty contest by her mother. Her subsequent beauty pageant victories attracted some attention and she appeared in commercials. Robert Clarke
Robert Irby Clarke (June 1, 1920 – June 11, 2005) was an American actor best known for his cult classic science fiction films of the 1950s. In succeeding decades he appeared in more conventional television, and in ''The King Family Show'', a variety show based on the family of which his wife Alyce King Clarke was a member. Early life Clarke was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.He attended Kemper Military School where he planned a military career, but asthma prevented his service in World War II. He enrolled in the University of Oklahoma and then the University of Wisconsin, where he began acting. Ulmer's wife Shirley acted as a script editor while their daughter Arianne Arden appeared as a Russian pilot. Antun Vrdoljak
Antun Vrdoljak (; born 5 June 1931) is a Croatian film actor and director, sports official, and head of Croatian Radiotelevision during the Yugoslav Wars. Between the 1960s and early 1990s he was mainly a film artist. In the early 1990s he became involved in politics and became a prominent member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which led to his appointment to a series of offices. He was director general of Croatian Radiotelevision (1991–1995), and president of the Croatian Olympic Committee (1991–2000). Veljko Bulajić (22 March 1928 – 2 April 2024) was a Montenegrin film director and UNESCO Kalinga Prize recipient. Bulajić spent the majority of his life working in Croatia and is primarily known for directing World War II-themed movies from the Partisan film genre. According to the Croatian Public Broadcasting Company, his films have reached an audience of over 500 million viewers worldwide. The top four most viewed Yugoslav films of all time were all directed by Bulajić. MUBI streaming service describes Bulajić as "a creator of made-to-order epic blockbusters". Sergio Fantoni
Sergio Fantoni (7 August 1930 – 17 April 2020) was an Italian actor, voice actor, playwright and director. Biography Fantoni was born in Rome to the actor Cesare Fantoni. He began his career appearing in films, radio dramas, television and theatrical productions in the late 1940s. He made his debut film appearance alongside his father in the 1949 film ''Anthony of Padua''. In addition to working mainly in his own country, he starred in international productions as well. Fantoni made several appearances in Hollywood films in the 1960s, most notably opposite Frank Sinatra in the war film '' Von Ryan's Express'', released in 1965.
