Dubstep
Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. Borgore
Yosef Asaf Borger (; born 20 October 1987), known professionally as Borgore, is an Israeli EDM producer, DJ, singer-songwriter and rapper. He is the founder of the label Buygore Records. Biography Yosef Asaf Borger was born to a Jewish family in Holon, Israel, and was raised in Tel Aviv. He has a brother named Tax. Borger moved to Los Angeles in 2012. Borger returned to Israel in November 2023, shortly after the birth of his daughter, Ellie and now lives in Hungary with his family. He is the founder of Buygore Records and is the former drummer of Israeli deathcore band Shabira. Self-described as "Gorestep", his music includes triplet drum patterns with heavy metal influences. Songs have been sonically suggestive of horror movies, farm animal vocalizations, and sex. Crizzly
Christopher Lee Marshall (born January 1, 1991), better known by his stage name Crizzly, is an American DJ and producer. Currently based in Austin, Texas, he began DJing in 2010, developing a style that incorporates dubstep, crunk, hyphy, drumstep, and trap, among other genres. He has released several singles and three mixtapes, titled ''Crunkstep'' (2012), ''Crunkstep Volume 2: Back 2 Da Streets'' (2013), and "Crunkstep Volume 3: Booty by Crizzly" (2014). He has also remixed songs such as "James Brown Is Dead" by L.A. Style, " Hard in Da Paint" by Waka Flocka Flame, " Chain Hang Low" by Jibbs, " The Way We Ball" by Lil Flip, and "Put It Down" by Bassnectar and Excision. Crankdat
Christian Smith (born March 2, 1997), known professionally as Crankdat, is an American DJ and electronic dance music producer. Early life Smith grew up desiring to be an athlete, but ultimately turned down a full-ride track-and-field scholarship to Kent State University to pursue music, producing energetic and melodically vibrant electronic dance music as Crankdat. Smith began making music while still in high school. Career Smith originally gained recognition for remixing other artists' tracks, including Fetty Wap's breakout single, " Trap Queen." Eventually these remixes racked up millions of plays and Smith, barely out of his teens, was getting attention from bigger names in electronic dance music such as Skrillex and The Chainsmokers. Alexander George Clare (born 14 September 1985) is a British singer and songwriter based in Jerusalem, Israel. Chase & Status are an English electronic music duo composed of Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status). In addition, Andy Gangadeen is the drummer when the band performs live. MC Rage formerly performed as MC with the group, but left in July 2021 to focus on solo ventures. The duo are from London, and formed in 2003 after meeting at university in Manchester. The duo have since released seven studio albums and collaborated with major artists such as Plan B, CeeLo Green, Rihanna, Example, Tinie Tempah, and Stormzy. They run the independent record label MTA Records. William Kennard founded ELAM (East London Arts and Music) in 2014. In 2023–24, Chase & Status won their first Brit Award for "Producer of the Year". Gary McCann, known professionally as Caspa (born 30 May 1982), is a dubstep music producer from West London. Biography McCann's creative involvement in music began after a promising basketball career was cut short by a shoulder injury. Growing up, McCann cites Jungle and Hip Hop as his main influences. Burial (musician)
William Emmanuel Bevan, known by his recording alias Burial, is a British electronic musician from South London. Initially remaining anonymous, Burial became the first artist signed to Kode9's electronic label Hyperdub in 2005. He won acclaim the following year for his Burial (Burial album), self-titled debut album, an influential release in the UK's dubstep scene which showcased a dark, emotive take on UK rave music styles such as UK garage and 2-step garage, 2-step; it was named the album of the year by ''The Wire (magazine), The Wire''. Nicholas Weiller, better known by his stage name Bro Safari, also known as Knick, is an American moombahton, trap, and dubstep producer. Biography Weiller was born in Rome, Italy, into a family with three brothers and one sister. The entire family moved back to Atlanta, Georgia. While growing up in Atlanta, he took to playing several instruments, including guitar, bass, and drums. Although an avid punk rock fan, he gained a deep interest in electronic music in college and began producing Drum N' Bass around 1999. He joined the drum and bass trio Evol Intent in 2000 in his hometown of Atlanta. Weiller has also produced trap, moombahton, and dubstep under the moniker Bro Safari starting in 2008.
