This is an incomplete list of comics based on television programs. Often a television program becomes successful, popular or attains cult status and the Media franchise, franchise produces Spin-off (media), spin-offs that often include comics. A number of companies specialise in licensed properties, including Gold Key Comics, Dark Horse Comics#Licensed properties, Dark Horse Comics, Titan Books and Dynamite Entertainment. Television Program
A television show, TV program (), or simply a TV show, is the general reference to any content produced for viewing on a television set that is broadcast via Terrestrial television, over-the-air, Satellite television, satellite, and cable television, cable, or Digital distribution, distributed digitally on Over-the-top media service, streaming platforms. This generally excludes breaking news or Television advertisement, advertisements that are aired between shows or between segments of a show. A regularly recurring show is called a television series, and an individual segment of such a series is called an episode. Content is produced either in-house on a television stage with multiple cameras or produced by contract with film production companies. Episodes are usually broadcast in annual sets, which are called seasons in North America and series in other regions. The A-Team (comics)
''The A-Team'' TV series and film have been adapted into several comics. Marvel Comics In 1984, Marvel Comics released an ''A-Team'' title, which ran for 3 issues. The three issues were published within the same month so that they could be bundled together and sold in chain stores. Jim Salicrup, who edited all three issues and wrote two of them, said that due to the tight deadline and the unavailability of ''A-Team'' episodes on home media, he watched a single episode of the series on TV and delivered both his plots to production studio Universal for their approval the next day. The Marvel Comics series was sold individually and released in "packs": one pack contained the first 2 issues, the other all 3 issues. The Original Astro Boy
''The Original Astro Boy'' is a twenty-issue 1980s in comics, 1980s comic book ongoing series, series (with one ''Astro Boy'' short story in Speed Racer #17) by NOW Comics, based on the original Japanese ''Astro Boy, Mighty Atom'' series by Osamu Tezuka. The series was based mostly on the 1963 ''Astro Boy (1963 TV series), Astro Boy'' anime series, but began to include elements from the Astro Boy (1980 TV series), 1980 series in later issues. The comic went through three writers and artists, and embellished the original plotline, despite only covering the first episode of the 1963 series. Main story The series begins with Dr. Boynton (Doctor Tenma) putting together Astro Boy (character), Astro Boy, and immediately adopting him under the name "Astor." After only a few days, Boynton becomes fed up with Astro's cold, unchildlike behavior, and plans to shut down and discard him. Archie's TV Laugh-Out
''Archie's TV Laugh-Out'' was a comic book published by Archie Comics from 1969 to 1986. Sabrina the Teenage Witch appears in all 106 issues, and this title served as a transition for her from ''Archie's Mad House'' to her own title. The first issue introduced Sabrina's boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle. In addition to Sabrina, the title featured regular appearances by the "Archie gang" and Josie and the Pussycats. The Aquanauts
''The Aquanauts'' (later known as ''Malibu Run'') is an American adventure/ drama series that aired on CBS September 14, 1960 - February 22, 1961 (or September 14, 1960 - September 27, 1961). The series stars Keith Larsen, Jeremy Slate and Ron Ely, who replaced Larsen on midseason. Synopsis The hour-long series focuses on the adventures of two Southern California divers, Drake Andrews (Larsen) and Larry Lahr (Slate), who made their living salvaging sunken wrecks. In January 1961, Larsen left the series due to health problems. His character rejoined the Navy and a new character, Mike Madison (Ron Ely), replaced him. A month later, the format of the series was also changed with the show's characters, Larry and Mike, opening up a dive shop in Malibu Beach. Tyson Hesse (born August 30, 1984) is an American artist and animator. Hesse is the creator of the webcomic ''Boxer Hockey'' and the graphic novel ''Diesel'' and ''Diesel: Ignition''. He contributed art to the video game ''Dream Daddy'' and the comic book series ''The Amazing World of Gumball'', and was a storyboard artist for the film ''Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus''.
