Lisette Lapointe
Lisette Lapointe (born September 13, 1943 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Quebec politician, journalist and teacher, who sat in the Quebec National Assembly first as a Parti Québécois MNA and then as an Independent. She is the widow of Jacques Parizeau, former Premier of Quebec, Canada. She was first elected to the National Assembly of Quebec as a candidate for the Parti Québécois in the provincial riding of Crémazie in the 2007 general election. Prior to her entry into politics, following in the footsteps of her husband, Lapointe worked as a teacher at the secondary level. She was also the director of a health and safety organization in the automobile industry, a journalist at a Mascouche newspaper and was the political aide for the Minister of Social Development and the former MNA of L'Assomption. The 2012 Quebec general election took place in the Canada, Canadian Provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec on September 4, 2012. Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, Lieutenant Governor Pierre Duchesne dissolved the National Assembly of Quebec, National Assembly on August 1, 2012, following Premier Jean Charest's request. Jean-Martin Aussant () is a Canadian economist, musician, and politician, now serving as Executive director of the Chantier de l' économie sociale. He represented Nicolet-Yamaska in the National Assembly of Quebec from 2008 to 2012, first as a member of the Parti Québécois and then as leader of his own party, Option nationale. He was defeated when he ran for re-election in Nicolet-Bécancour in the 2012 general election. He later rejoined the Parti Québécois to run unsuccessfully in the 2018 Quebec election.
