Lee Mulleneaux
Cecil Lee Mulleneaux (April 1, 1908 – November 14, 1985) was a player in the National Football League. He played his first season with the New York Giants. During the 1933 NFL season he played with the Cincinnati Reds before splitting the following season between the Reds and the St. Louis Gunners. For the next two seasons he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes (or " snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. According to Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, "you need to have somebody who can neutralize that nose tackle. If you don't, everything can get screwed up. Chicago Cardinals (NFL, 1920–59)
The professional American football team now known as the Arizona Cardinals previously played in Chicago, Illinois, as the Chicago Cardinals from 1898 to 1959 before relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, for the 1960 through 1987 seasons. Roots can be traced to 1898, when Chris O'Brien established an amateur Chicago-based athletic team, the Morgan Athletic Club. O'Brien later moved them to Chicago's Normal Park and renamed them the Racine Normals, then adopting the maroon color from the University of Chicago uniforms.
