Réunion (; ; ; known as before 1848) is an island in the Indian Ocean that is an overseas departments and regions of France, overseas department and region of France. NUPES
The New Ecological and Social People's Union (, NUPES) was a left-wing electoral alliance of political parties in France. Formed on May Day 2022, the alliance included La France Insoumise (LFI), the Socialist Party (PS), the French Communist Party (PCF), The Ecologists (LE), Ensemble! (E!), and Génération.s (G.s), and their respective smaller partners. It was the first wide left-wing political alliance since the Plural Left in the 1997 French legislative election. Over 70 dissident candidates who refused the accord still ran. Emeline K/Bidi (, born 13 May 1987) is a French lawyer and politician who was elected to represent Réunion's 4th constituency in the 2022 legislative election. Biography K/Bidi's family name is of Breton origin and is pronounced like "Kerbidi". The letter Ꝃ (K with stroke; French: ''k barré'') was used in Breton as an abbreviation for the prefix ''Ker'', meaning "village" or "hamlet", which is a common component of Breton place names. Her ancestor had relocated from Quimperlé in Brittany to Réunion in the 18th century. Emeline K/Bidi was born on 13 May 1987 in Saint-Denis, Réunion, and studied law.
