Lasaulec Aris
LWD Basket is a Dutch professional basketball club based in Leeuwarden. Founded as Aris Leeuwarden in 2004, the club competes in the BNXT League, and has competed at the highest national level since its foundation. The team plays its home games at the Kalverdijkje. The most notable successes are reaching the DBL finals in 2013 and the NBB Cup final in 2020. History The parent club was actually founded in 1992, when the clubs Sporty and Ymir merged into BV Aris. In 2004 the professional team was founded, when the team promoted from the Promotiedivisie – the Dutch second-tier league – to the Eredivisie. The team, coached by Tom Simpson, was named Woon!Aris for sponsorship reasons and reached the Playoffs in its first season. After then, the team failed to reach the postseason for four seasons. BNXT League
The BNXT League is a professional basketball league in Belgium and the Netherlands. The league is the first tier in both the Dutch and Belgian system, replacing the Dutch Basketball League, DBL and Pro Basketball League, PBL. The inaugural season was the 2021–22 BNXT League, 2021–22 season, which started in September 2021. History On 10 December 2020, it was announced that the Belgian Pro Basketball League and Dutch Basketball League would merge to form a new multinational league. All clubs from the Dutch DBL voted for, while 9 of 10 teams in Belgium voted in favor of the decision. Serious talks about the initiative had been ongoing since fall 2019. 2021–22 BNXT League
The 2021–22 BNXT League was the inaugural season of the BNXT League, the highest professional basketball league in Belgium and the Netherlands. It replaced the Dutch Basketball League and the Pro Basketball League. The season started with the BNXT Supercup on 19 September, while the regular season began on 24 September 2021. The season ended on 11 June 2022 with the final game of the Finals. ZZ Leiden won the inaugural BNXT championship. 2015–16 NBB Cup
The 2015–16 NBB Cup was the 48th edition of the Netherlands national basketball cup tournament. SPM Shoeters Den Bosch won its 7th national cup title after beating ZZ Leiden in the Final. The Final was played on 27 March 2016 in the Landstede Sportcentrum in Zwolle. Format In the first, second and third round teams from the Dutch second, third and fourth division participate. From the fourth round, teams from the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) enter the competition. Quarter- and semi-finals are played in a two-legged format. The 2013-14 NBB Cup was the 46th season of the NBB Cup. It was managed by the Nationale Basketball Bond (English: National Basketball Federation). SPM Shoeters Den Bosch were the defending champion having won the cup the previous season. The championship game was played on 30 March 2014 at the Landstede Sportcentrum in Zwolle. The 2019–20 Basketball Cup is the 52nd edition of the Netherlands' national basketball cup tournament. This was the first season the competition was known as Basketball Cup instead of NBB Cup, as the national federation changed its name from NBB to Basketball Nederland. The 2009–10 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 50th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. GasTerra Flames dominated throughout the regular season and lost just three games. Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden player Danny Gibson was league top scorer and won the Most Valuable Player award.
