Lanzhou is the capital and largest city of Gansu province in northwestern China. Chengguan District () is one of 5 District (China), districts of the prefecture-level city of Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu, Gansu Province, China. It is located mostly on the southern side of the Yellow River, and includes the downtown Lanzhou. Zhongshan Bridge
The Zhongshan Bridge () is a steel truss bridge over the Yellow River in Lanzhou. Opened in 1909, it was the first permanent bridge over the Yellow River. The bridge is one of the most well-known landmarks of Lanzhou. Construction of the bridge began in 1907 and the bridge was completed in 1909. At its opening, the bridge was simply known as the 'First Bridge', but in 1928 it was renamed Zhongshan Bridge to honour Sun Yat-sen. Originally, the bridge was painted bright red, but during the Second Sino-Japanese War the bridge was painted dark grey to successfully evade bombings, a colour which it remains in today. Xiguan Mosque
The Xiguan Mosque (), is a mosque in Chengguan District, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, China. History The mosque was originally built during the Wanli Emperor of the Ming dynasty. During the Qing dynasty, the mosque underwent two big reconstructions. The mosque was rebuilt in 1990. In 2023 the Lanzhou government transformed Xiguan mosque and redesigned its façades and dome. Architecture The style of the mosque follows the Arabic Islamic style and the minimalist style, while the prayer hall combines the Chinese classical and Arabic architectural style. Hui People
The Hui people are an East Asian ethnoreligious group predominantly composed of Islam in China, Chinese-speaking adherents of Islam. They are distributed throughout China, mainly in the Northwest China, northwestern provinces and in the Zhongyuan region.
