Laganas
Laganas ( el, Λαγανάς) is a village and a former municipality on the island of Zakynthos, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Zakynthos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit Laganas covers the southernmost part of Zakynthos. Its municipal seat was the town of Pantokratoras (pop. 925 in 2011). The municipal unit of Laganas has a land area of 74.104 km². Its largest towns are Mouzaki (pop. 1,702), Lithakia (pop. 1,307), Pantokratoras, Kalamaki (pop. 890), Laganas (pop. 729), and Keri (pop. 469). The central and eastern part of the municipal unit are flat, but there are hills up to 450 m elevation in the west. Lithakia
Lithakia ( el, Λιθακιά) is a village in the southern part of the island of Zakynthos, Greece. In 2011 its population was 1,307. It is situated at the foot of low hills, about 2 km from the Ionian Sea coast. It is 3 km west of the beach village Laganas, 5 km southeast of Machairado and 9 km southwest of Zakynthos (city). The village suffered great damage from the 1953 Ionian earthquake. Kalamaki, Zakynthos
Kalamaki ( el, Καλαμάκι) is the name of a beach resort town on the Greek island of Zakynthos. It is located approximately 3 km northeast of the busy resort of Laganas, although despite the close proximity it maintains a much more relaxed atmosphere than its neighbour. Keri, Greece
Keri ( el, Κερί) is a village and a community in the southern part of the island of Zakynthos. It is situated on a hillside, close to the Ionian Sea coast. Its population in 2011 was 469 for the village and 788 for the community, which includes the villages Apelati, Limni Keriou and Marathias. The community includes the island's southernmost point, Cape Marathia. Keri is 6 km south of Lithakia and 15 km southwest of Zakynthos (city). The village suffered great damage from the 1953 Ionian earthquake. Keri is also famous for nearby Keri cliffs, rising over 300 m from the Ionian Sea. This location is famous for its sunset. A 9-metre tall lighthouse, built in 1925, sits atop the cliffs. Zakynthos International Airport
Zakynthos International Airport "Dionysios Solomos" is an airport in Zakynthos, Greece. History In December 2015, the privatization of Zakynthos International Airport and 13 other regional airports of Greece was finalized with the signing of the agreement between the Fraport AG/Copelouzos Group joint venture and the state privatisation fund. "We signed the deal today," the head of Greece's privatisation agency HRADF, Stergios Pitsiorlas, told Reuters. According to the agreement, the joint venture will operate the 14 airports (including Zakynthos International Airport) for 40 years from 11 April 2017. The airport is close to the town and beach of Kalamaki. Kalamaki beach is part of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Zakynthos, of which it is a municipal unit. It is on the central west coast of the island.
