Krishnaveni (film)
Krishnaveni is a 1974 Indian Telugu-language film directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao, starring Krishnam Raju and Vanisri, under the banner of Gopikrishna Movies. The film met with strong critical reception and commercial success upon release. The movie was about a lady suffering from hysteria and the emotional trauma of her family. Sharapanjara
''Sharapanjara'' ( en, Cage of Arrows) is a 1971 Indian Kannada language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal, based on a novel by Triveni of the same name, and starring Kalpana and Gangadhar in lead roles. This film is considered one of the best Kannada movies ever made. Triveni's novel was richly visual and Puttanna not only stayed faithful to the novel on screen but also retained most of the novel's dialogues and credited Triveni for them. The film won the award for Best Feature Film in Kannada at the 20th National Film Awards in 1972. It also won three awards at the 1970-71 Karnataka State Film Awards including the award for First Best Film. The film was later remade in Telugu as '' Krishnaveni'' (1974) starring Vanisri. Anasuya Shankar
Anasuya Shankar (1 September 1928 – 29 July 1963), popularly known by her pen name as Triveni, was an Indian writer of modern fiction in Kannada language. Her novels have been made into feature films, most prominently, ''Belli Moda'' (1967)'' and Sharapanjara'' (1971) – both directed by Puttanna Kanagal and featuring actress Kalpana. Her small stories collection ''Samasyeya Magu'' won the Devaraja Bahadur Prize in 1950. Her novel ''Avala Mane'' earned the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award in 1960. Life Anasuya Shankar was born on 1 September 1928 in the Chamarajapuram suburb of Mysore, in the erstwhile Kingdom of Mysore of British India (in present-day Mysore, Karnataka), to B. M.
