Korhan Abay (born 1954) is a Turkish actor, author, film director and producer. Career Abay is a show-business icon in Turkey, well known for his work as an actor, writer, host and producer of numerous national and international TV shows and events. He co-hosted the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with Meltem Cumbul. Korhan can also speak French. NTV (Turkish TV Channel)
NTV is a Turkish nationwide television news channel owned by Doğuş Media Group. It was partnered with MSNBC between May 2000 and 2014. Besides domestic and international news, the channel's programming includes documentaries, as well as programs on finance, arts and culture, lifestyle, and sports. History NTV was founded in 1996 as a subsidiary of Cavit Çağlar's Nergis Group (hence the original full name of Nergis TV) and as the first news channel of Turkey. In January 1999, the channel became part of Doğuş Group. The success of NTV changed the Turkish media industry and started the era of thematic TV channels. 2004 Eurovision Song Contest
The Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was the 49th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, following the country's victory at the with the song "Everyway That I Can" by Sertab Erener. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the contest was held at the Abdi İpekçi Arena, and, for the first time, consisted of a semi-final on 12 May, and a final on 15 May 2004. The two live shows were presented by Turkish actors Korhan Abay and Meltem Cumbul. It was the first time that Turkey had hosted the contest, 29 years after the country made its debut, and was also the first time since the contest in Birmingham that it was not hosted in the host country's capital city. ''Sabah'' is a Turkish daily newspaper, with a circulation of around 330,000 as of 2011. Its name means "morning" in Turkish. The newspaper was founded in İzmir by Dinç Bilgin on 22 April 1985. In 2007, the government of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seized the newspaper, citing a legal document that had not been disclosed to authorities when ''Sabah'' was sold in 2001. ''Mind the Gap'' (Swedish: ''Se upp för dårarna'') is a 2007 Swedish film directed by Helena Bergström. Plot The movie tells the story of Yasmin Demiroglu whose family moved from Turkey to Stockholm when she was eight years old. Yasmin's father Sinan had a good reputation as a cardio-thoracic surgeon while living in Turkey and is thus very unsatisfied with his job in Sweden – he is an underground train driver. Marija Naumova-Bullīta (born and professionally knows as Marija Naumova 23 June 1973) is a Latvian singer of Russian descent. Under the stage name Marie N, she sings a broad range of music ranging from pop to musical theatre and jazz, and has recorded several albums, with songs in Latvian, French, English, Russian and Portuguese. In 2002, she won the Eurovision Song Contest for Latvia with her song " I Wanna". Renārs Kaupers (sometimes anglicised as Reynard Cowper; born 1 September 1974, in Jelgava) is a Latvian pop/rock singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter who is the vocalist of the band Prāta Vētra (known internationally as Brainstorm). Mariia Oleksandrivna Yefrosinina ( uk, Марія Олександрівна Єфросініна; born 25 May 1979), professionally known as Masha Efrosinina ( uk, Маша Єфросініна), is a Ukrainian television host and media personality. Pavlo Yurievich Shylko ( Ukrainian: Павло Юрійович Шилько) (also known as DJ Pasha, born 6 August 1977 in Mezhdurechensk) is a Ukrainian radio and television presenter. He co-hosted Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with Maria Efrosinina (Masha) at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv. Career His career began around 1996 as a radio DJ for the Ukrainian radio station Gala Radio. He wrote the song for Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 " Show Me Your Love" performed by Tina Karol. In the final, it had received 145 points, pushing it into 7th place.
