Koh-rong
Koh Rong ( km, កោះរ៉ុង, ) is the second largest island of Cambodia. The word ''Rong'' might refer to an old term for "cave" or "tunnel" ( km, រូង, links=no, ), although some islanders say ''Rong'' refers to a historical person's name. It can also refer to the Old Khmer word for shelter, adding up to ''Shelter Island''. Located in Koh Kong Province in the kingdom of Cambodia about , the island has an area of approximately and of its entire coastline of are beaches. Henri Mouhot
Alexandre Henri Mouhot (May 15, 1826 — November 10, 1861) was a French naturalist and explorer of the mid-19th century. He was born in Montbéliard, Doubs, France, near the Swiss border, but spent his childhood in Russia and, possibly, parts of Asia. He died near Naphan, Laos. He is remembered mostly in connection to Angkor. Mouhot's tomb is located just outside of Ban Phanom, to the east of Luang Prabang. Early life He traveled throughout Europe with his brother Charles, studying photographic techniques developed by Louis Daguerre. In 1856, he began devoting himself to the study of Natural Science. Upon reading "The Kingdom and People of Siam" by Sir John Bowring in 1857, Mouhot decided to travel to Indochina to conduct a series of botanical expeditions for the collection of new zoological specimens. Koh Sdach
Koh Sdach island (Khmer: កោះស្តេច, King Island) is located in the Gulf of Thailand, around off the coast of Botum Sakor national park, in the Kiri Sakor district in Koh Kong province, Cambodia. It belongs to a small archipelago of 12 islands, all in relative proximity to each other and to the main land. A fishing community inhabits the island, with people of Khmer, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese descent. The village stretches along the east side of the island; to the west there is a small Khmer run bungalow guesthouse; at the southern end of the island lies a luxurious holiday resort.
