Kimbolton is a village and parish in Herefordshire, England, around north east of Leominster and north of Hereford. The village is on the A4112 road, near its junction with the A49 road. Kimbolton is a town and civil parish in England. Kimbolton is about west of Huntingdon and north of Bedford. Kimbolton is administered as part of Cambridgeshire; however it is situated within Huntingdonshire, which is an historic county of England and is now a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire. The parish includes the hamlet of Stonely. Catherine of Aragon, after her divorce from Henry VIII, died at Kimbolton Castle in 1536. Kimbolton School is a British HMC co-educational independent day and boarding school in the rural village of Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire, England. There are 1000 students, aged 4 to 18. Boarding and flexi-boarding is available to a limited number of students from the age of 11. There are approximately 700 students in the Senior School, and 300 in the Preparatory School. Since 1950, the school has occupied Kimbolton Castle (the former seat of the Dukes of Manchester) and its grounds. History The school is the successor to the village grammar school and although there are references to a school at Kimbolton as early as 1531, the generally accepted date for its foundation is 1600. It originally occupied buildings within the churchyard, but moved to new premises in Tilbrook Road in the late 19th century. Kimbolton Castle
Kimbolton Castle is a country house in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire, England. It was the final home of King Henry VIII's first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Originally a medieval castle but converted into a stately palace, it was the family seat of the Earls and Dukes of Manchester from 1615 until 1950. It now houses Kimbolton School. History The castle was built by Geoffrey Fitz Peter, 1st Earl of Essex in the late 12th century. The inner court was rebuilt by Anne Neville, Duchess of Buckingham in the late 15th century. The castle was acquired by Sir Richard Wingfield in 1522. Catherine of Aragon was sent here in April 1534 for refusing to give up her status or deny the validity of her marriage. RAF Kimbolton is a former Royal Air Force station located west of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England. Kimbolton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Guernsey County, Ohio, United States, along Wills Creek. The population was 144 at the 2010 census, down from 190 at the 2000 census, at which time it was a village. History Kimbolton was originally called "Liberty", and under the latter name was platted in 1828. John Gibson, born 1795, was the first gentleman to lay out the city of Liberty on land given to him by his father. A post office called Kimbolton has been in operation since 1837.
