The Danish Cup ( da, Landspokalturneringen; often referred to as Pokalen) is the official "knockout" cup competition in Danish football, run by the Danish Football Association. The cup has been contested annually since 1955. The winner will qualify for the UEFA Europa League tournament the following year, where they (as of the 2009–10 season) will enter in the third qualifying round. The latest edition, 2017-18 Danish Cup, was won by Superliga-side Brøndby, beating Superliga-side Silkeborg 3–1 on 10 May 2018 at Parken Stadium, thereby winning their first domestic trophy since 2008. The 2014–15 Danish Superliga season was the 25th season of the Danish Superliga, which decides the Danish football championship. Since Denmark dropped from fifteenth to nineteenth place in the 2014 UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2013–14 season, only the champion of the league qualified for the UEFA Champions League; that club would commence its campaign in the second qualifying round. Furthermore, the second and third-place clubs would now enter the UEFA Europa League in the first qualifying round. Teams AGF and Viborg FF finished the 2013–14 season in 11th and 12th place, respectively, and were relegated to the 2014–15 1st Division. Jan Børge Poulsen
Jan Børge Poulsen (born 23 March 1946) is a Danish football manager and former player who played as midfielder, spending most of his professional career at Boldklubben Frem. Coaching career During the 1980s Poulsen coached Boldklubben Frem and Køge Boldklub. In 1990, he was named Richard Møller Nielsen's assistant for the Denmark national team, and he was part of the team that won the Euro 1992. After the win in 1992 he was promoted to head coach of the Denmark U21 national team. He had this job until 1999, when he was named new sporting director of the Singapore national team. When Vincent Subramaniam was sacked in 2001 due to bad results, Poulsen stepped in to replace him. This did not help Singapore and Poulsen himself was sacked in 2002.
