Khairul Kabir Khokon
Khairul Kabir Khokon is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a former member of parliament for Narsingdi-1, who currently serves as the party's assistant secretary. He had served as the president of Narsingdi District unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Career Khokon was elected to Parliament in 2005 in a by-election from Narsingdi-1 as a candidate of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. The seat fell vacant following the death of incumbent Member of Parliament Shamsuddin Ahmed Ishaq. He defeated independent candidate Shahadat Hossain Munna. The election was boycotted by the main opposition party, Awami League. The voting saw a low turnout and voting centers were forcefully taken over by Bangladesh Nationalist Party activists who chased away the polling agents of other candidates. The Jatiya Sangsad ( bn, জাতীয় সংসদ, lit=National Parliament, translit=Jatiyô Sôngsôd), often referred to simply as the ''Sangsad'' or JS and also known as the House of the Nation, is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats, including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Elected occupants are called Member of Parliament, or MP. Detective Branch is a specialized unit of Bangladesh Police. According to Human Rights Watch, there is extensive documentation of human rights violation by Detective Branch and Rapid Action Battalion. According to Human Rights Watch, 70 percent of extrajudicial deaths involving the police involved Detective Branch. History In 1998, Shamim Reza Rubel,a student of the Independent University, Bangladesh, was arrested by Detective Branch members. He was then tortured and killed in custody. On 25 March 1999, a body of an informant was recovered from the water tank of Detective Branch headquarters in Minto road in Dhaka. Bir Bikrom Hafizuddin Ahmed is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician, a retired Bangladesh Army major, and a 6-term Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Bhola-3 constituency. Khaleda Zia
Khaleda Zia (; born Khaleda Khanam Putul in 1945) is a Bangladeshi politician who served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh from March 1991 to March 1996, and again from June 2001 to October 2006.
