Kevin Drew
Kevin Drew (born September 9, 1976) is a Canadian musician and songwriter who, together with Brendan Canning, founded the expansive Toronto baroque-pop collective Broken Social Scene. He was also part of the lesser-known KC Accidental, which consisted of Drew and Charles Spearin, another current member of Broken Social Scene. Drew has shared in the direction of Broken Social Scene videos under the name Experimental Parachute Movement. In 2008 he wrote and directed a short film called "The Water," inspired by and starring his bandmate and former girlfriend Leslie Feist. In 2009, Drew contributed to the AIDS benefit album Dark Was the Night produced by the Red Hot Organization. Intonation Music Festival
The Intonation Music Festival was a yearly summer music festival held at Union Park in Chicago, Illinois. 2005 The festival was held on July 16–17, 2005. It was conceived of and launched by Skyline Chicago, who hired Pitchfork Media to curate, and supported by Microsoft (by way of the Xbox), Tower Records, WLUW and PETA2, among others. The admission price was $15 per day, with a limited number of $22 two-day passes that were available online only. Gates opened at noon each day. The festival had been announced as slated for Chicago's Pulaski Park, but the festival was moved twice, ending up in the much larger Union Park. Metric (band)
Metric is a Canadian rock band founded in 1998 in Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Emily Haines (lead vocals, synthesizers, guitar, tambourine, harmonica, piano), James Shaw (guitar, synthesizers, theremin, backing vocals), Joshua Winstead (bass, synthesizers, backing vocals) and Joules Scott-Key (drums, percussion). The band started in 1998 as a duo formed by Haines and Shaw with the name "Mainstream". After releasing an EP titled ''Mainstream EP'', they changed the band's name to Metric. The Tragically Hip, often referred to simply as the Hip, were a Canadian rock band formed in Kingston, Ontario in 1984, consisting of vocalist Gord Downie, guitarist Paul Langlois, guitarist Rob Baker (known as Bobby Baker until 1994), bassist Gord Sinclair, and drummer Johnny Fay. Dave Hamelin
Dave Hamelin (born October 3, 1980) is a Canadian musician, songwriter and producer known for his work with indie rock band the Stills. Originally the band's drummer, he moved to guitar and co-lead vocalist in 2005 when guitarist Greg Paquet left the band. On March 28, 2009, the Stills were awarded two Juno Awards for their album ''Oceans Will Rise'', in the categories of Best New Group and Best Alternative Album. In 2010, Paquet rejoined and Hamelin moved back to drums. The Stills announced their breakup on April 15, 2011. In 2009, Hamelin formed the band Eight and a Half with Stills' keyboardist Liam O'Neil and Broken Social Scene drummer Justin Peroff. They released their self-titled debut in 2012. ''Influences'' is the debut solo album by English musician Mark King, singer and bass player with Level 42. It was released by Polydor Records in July 1984. The album features a cover of the song "I Feel Free" by Cream, which was released as a single. King played most of the instruments on the album. Andrew Youakim (born 5 December 1946), known professionally as Andy Kim, is a Canadian pop rock singer and songwriter. He grew up in Montreal, Quebec. He is known for hits that he released in the late 1960s and 1970s: the international hit " Baby, I Love You" in 1969, and " Rock Me Gently", which topped the U.S. singles chart in 1974. Ibolya "Ibi" Kaslik (born August 20, 1973) is a Canadian novelist, freelance journalist, and professor of creative writing at the University of Toronto. Early life Born in Toronto, Ontario, Kaslik attended high school at Etobicoke School of the Arts. She went on to major in creative writing at Concordia University and graduated with a Masters of Arts in Creative Writing and English Literature.
