Kenny Irwin Jr.
Kenneth Dale Irwin Jr. (August 5, 1969 – July 7, 2000) was an American stock car racing driver. He had driven in all three NASCAR national touring series, and had two total victories, both in the Craftsman Truck Series (today Camping World Truck Series). Before that, he raced in the United States Auto Club against Tony Stewart, who was one of his fiercest rivals. He died as a result of injuries suffered in a crash during a practice session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Early life Irwin grew up in Indianapolis and was the third youngest of four children. He began racing quarter-midgets before he was in the second grade. He graduated from Lawrence North High School in 1988 where he played varsity soccer, while continuing his career as a driver. The SRS Distribution 250 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series race that has taken place each spring at Texas Motor Speedway since 1997. Since 2005, this has been one of two races for the series at the track, the other being the Andy's Frozen Custard 300 in the fall. In 2011, the race became a Friday night race after being held on Saturday afternoon since 1997. In 2017, the race returned to being on a Saturday afternoon and My Bariatric Solutions, a part of Wise Health System, became the title sponsor of the race. In 2021, the race was moved from April to June and paired with the track's spring Truck Series race, which had previously been held in June, and the NASCAR All-Star Race, which moved from Bristol Motor Speedway to Texas that year. The SpeedyCash.com 220 is an annual NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race held at the Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth, Texas. The race was previously a standalone race in the month of June for the Truck Series at the track, but it shared a weekend with the track's IndyCar Series race, the Genesys 600. However, in 2021, the Cup and Xfinity Series' spring race weekend at Texas, usually in late March or early-to-mid-April, was removed from the schedule and both series joined the Truck Series on the June weekend. The Cup Series race would now be their All-Star Race, which was previously held at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Phoenix International Raceway
Phoenix Raceway is a 1-mile, low-banked tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona, near Phoenix. The motorsport track opened in 1964 and currently hosts two NASCAR race weekends annually including the final championship race since 2020.
