Kennedy McKinney
Kennedy McKinney (born January 10, 1966) is an American former professional boxer, who won the bantamweight gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. As a professional, he won the IBF and WBO super bantamweight titles. Military service McKinney took up boxing while serving in the U.S. Army, private first class stationed at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Super Bantamweight
Super bantamweight, also known as junior featherweight, is a weight class in professional boxing, contested from and up to . There were attempts by boxing promoters in the 1920s to establish this weight class, but few sanctioning organizations or state athletic commissions would recognize it. Jack Wolf won recognition as champion when he beat Joe Lynch at Madison Square Garden on September 21, 1922, but afterwards the weight division fell into disuse. The division was revived in the 1970s and the first title fight in 54 years in the division took place in 1976 when the World Boxing Council recognized Rigoberto Riasco as its champion when he defeated Waruinge Nakayama in eight rounds. Byun Jung-il
Byun Jung-il (born 16 November 1968 in Seoul) is a former South Korean professional boxer. He competed in the men's bantamweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Amateur career At the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Byun defeated Jean-Marc Augustin of France in the first round of the bantamweight competition. In the second round, he refused to leave the ring after losing a 4-1 decision to Aleksandar Khristov of Bulgaria. He was penalized two points by New Zealand referee Keith Walker for headbutting. He sat by himself in the ring for over an hour. Eventually, match officials turned the lights out and left him in darkness. Luisito Pio Espinosa (born June 26, 1967) is a Filipino former professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 2005. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBA bantamweight title from 1989 to 1991 and the WBC featherweight title from 1995 to 1999.
