Kaushal Kishore is an Indian politician currently serving as the Minister of State for Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India since 7 July 2021. He is representing Mohanlalganj constituency, Uttar Pradesh. He is the national president of Parakh Mahasangh and is the State President of the party's SC wing. He is a leader of the party and an activist for issues of social justice. Pasi (caste)
The Pasi (also spelled Passi) is a Dalit (untouchable) community of India. Pasi refers to tapping toddy, a traditional occupation of the Pasi community. The Pasi are divided into Gujjar, Kaithwas, and Boria. They are classified as an Other Backward Class in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They live in the northern Indian states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Etymology According to William Crooke, the word ''Pashi'' derives from the Sanskrit word ''Pashika'', a noose used by Pasis to climb and tap toddy, a drink obtained from palm tree. The tapping of toddy is the original occupation of the Pasi community. However, just like other aspirational caste groups of India, Pasis have a myth of origin. They claim that they originate from the sweat of Parshuram, an incarnation of Vishnu. Mohanlalganj is a tehsil and community development block in Lucknow district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It has historically constituted part of the village of Mau (Mohanlalganj), Mau. History The eponymous market, called Mohanlalganj, was established in 1859 by Raja Kashi Parshad and named after his father-in-law, Mohan Lal, from whom he had received his estate. Kashi Parshad had spent 50,000 rupees to finance its construction, and later additions costing a further 30,000 rupees were made, including drains and masonry verandas. At the turn of the 20th century, the Mohanlalganj bazaar was described as an important commercial center, mainly for grain and cloth, and its entrances were marked by two grand archways.
