Katie Malcolmson, known professionally as Katie Malco, is a British indie rock musician based in Northampton, England. Career Malco began her career releasing an EP in 2011 titled ''Katie Malco and the Slow Parade'' on Alcopop! Records. Malco released her second EP in 2013 titled ''Tearing Ventricles''. In 2020, Malco signed to Richmond, Virginia-based record label 6131 Records. Her debut album, ''Failures'', was released through the label on 5 June 2020. The album was one of NPR Music's "Best New Albums" upon the week of its release. The Sugarmill
The Sugarmill is a nightclub and music venue in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, that opened in 1994. Events The Sugarmill hosts Electric Friday club nights weekly, the longest running alternative club night in Staffordshire. The last Friday of each month is the Electric All-Nighter, open until 6am. The club also hosts The Move on occasional Saturdays and every Bank Holiday Sunday, a club night which brings the biggest names in international house music. Their club nights are open to over 18s only, all their shows (unless stated otherwise) are open to over 14s. Fenne Lily (born 22 January 1997) is a Dorset-born, Bristol-based folk singer-songwriter. Her debut studio album, ''On Hold'', was released in 2018. Early life Fenne Lily was born in Dorset, United Kingdom. She has a brother, to whom her song "Brother" is dedicated. She attended Beaminster School until the age of 16 and began playing concerts in Bristol at around the age of 15. During her teens, Lily worked in a record shop in Bridport, Dorset. Robert Arthur Mould (born October 16, 1960) is an American musician, principally known for his work as guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for alternative rock bands Hüsker Dü in the 1980s and Sugar in the 1990s. Early years Born in Malone, New York, Mould lived in several places, including the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, where he attended Macalester College. There, he formed Hüsker Dü in the late 1970s with drummer/singer Grant Hart and bass guitarist Greg Norton. Mould and Hart were the principal songwriters for Hüsker Dü, with Hart's higher-pitched vocals and Mould's baritone taking the lead in alternate songs. Alcopop! Records is a British independent record label, run by Jack Clothier and Kevin Douch formed in 2006 when the pair lived together in East Oxford. The label works with the likes of DZ Deathrays, Johnny Foreigner, Fight Like Apes, Anamanaguchi, Peaness, TIGERCUB, Gaffa Tape Sandy, The Spook School, Nelson Can, and QI. Inception Alcopop! Records was formally created after a small loan was gambled on the Charlton vs Portsmouth match of 16 September 2006, with money for the first release and show generated from a successful bet on the match. This money was invested in a band from Yeovil called Encyclopedia, with the first single "Emily" (Alcopop001) kicking off the 2006/7 singles club (which also included the likes of Midget, data.select.party and 4 or 5 Magicians).
