Kathavasheshan
''Kadhavaseshan'' ( en, The Deceased) is a 2004 Malayalam mystery drama film written and directed by T. V. Chandran, starring Dileep and Jyothirmayi in the lead roles. Veteran Bengali actress Gita Dey made a special appearance. It was the first movie in the 2002 Gujarat Riots trilogy by the director, the second one being Vilapangalkkappuram and the third and final one being Bhoomiyude Avakashikal. The narratives of all these films begin on the same day, 28 February 2002, that is, on the day after the Godhra train burning in Gujarat. The film was released on November 11 on the Eve of Diwali. Plot Gopinathan Menon (Dileep), an engineer, is found dead in his flat. Renuka (Jyothirmayi), his fiancee, wants to know the cause of his death. Hence, she decides to investigate the case, unravelling his last days through the perspective of people he interacted with. Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai, better known by his stage name Dileep, is an Indian actor, producer, and businessman who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He has acted in more than 150 films and has won several awards, including four Kerala State Film Awards and one Filmfare Awards South. ''Vilapangalkkappuram'' ( ml, വിലാപങ്ങള്‍ക്കപ്പുറം; ''Beyond the Wail'') is a Malayalam film scripted and directed by T. V. Chandran in 2008. 2002 Gujarat Riots
The 2002 Gujarat riots, also known as the 2002 Gujarat violence, was a three-day period of inter-communal violence in the western Indian state of Gujarat. The burning of a train in Godhra on 27 February 2002, which caused the deaths of 58 Hindu pilgrims and karsevaks returning from Ayodhya, is cited as having instigated the violence. Following the initial riot incidents, there were further outbreaks of violence in Ahmedabad for three months; statewide, there were further outbreaks of violence against the minority Muslim population of Gujarat for the next year.
